01 — The situation
The first showroom visit happens online.
Four Chairs is the studio behind award-winning Parade of Homes spaces — a furniture store and interior design practice in Lindon where the product is, literally, taste. Their clients decide within seconds whether a brand shares their standards, and they decide it on a screen before they ever visit the showroom floor.
That's a high bar for a website: it can't just describe the studio's work — it has to hold up next to it.
02 — What we built
A gallery, not a catalog.
- A calm, gallery-style layout where room-scale photography carries every page — browsing feels like walking the floor
- Restrained, editorial typography that frames the rooms instead of competing with them
- The awards left to speak for themselves — presented, not shouted
- Fast loads despite image-heavy pages — modern formats, lazy loading, and a compiled stylesheet instead of framework bloat
- Clean structure and complete structured data underneath, so the elegance is also findable
03 — The craft
Design that defers.
The hardest brief in web design isn't "make it impressive" — it's "make it quiet." Every decision on this build defers to the rooms: generous whitespace so the photography can breathe, hairline rules instead of boxes, nothing animated for its own sake, and not a single stock element. If a visitor remembers the furniture and not the website, the website did its job.
That restraint is deliberate, and it's rarer than it should be — most template sites bury a brand like this under someone else's design decisions.
04 — Why it matters
For a premium brand, taste is trust.
Four Chairs sells considered spaces, and its buyers judge the brand by every surface it touches. With more than 1,600 visits a month, the website is now the studio's busiest room — the place most future clients walk through first. When a business owner who has spent 21 years around good design calls it her best web experience yet, that's the metric this build was aiming for.
"The best web design we have experienced in our 21 years in business."
